Artist statement

My work explores minimal abstract landscapes shaped by moments of transition — when life feels uncertain, yet change is already beginning. I am drawn to fog as it appears at dawn, when darkness has passed and light is slowly returning. This fog is not an ending, but a pause. It softens the horizon, slows movement, and invites attention to the present moment.

Through restrained colour palettes, soft horizons, and subtle shifts of light, my paintings reflect the experience of standing at the beginning of something new. The fog gradually lifts, revealing balance, calm, optimism and hope.

Each work offers a quiet reminder that even the most unclear moments carry the promise of light. I paint these spaces not to resolve uncertainty, but to honour it as a necessary passage. In these dawn misty landscapes, uncertainty becomes gentle, movement becomes intentional, and light returns without force.
